The group of Gilles Gasser from the Institute of Chemistry for Life and Health Sciences has just published an article in the prestigious journal of the American Chemical Society.

This collaborative paper with scientists of the University of Konstanz (Rainer Winter) and Chimie ParisTech (Ilaria Ciofini, Fethi Bedioui) reports the discovery of new ruthenium polypyridyl complexes as promising anticancer drug candidates. One of their compounds was found to be particularly interesting since it accumulates in several cellular compartments, making it advantageous in the search of a potential drug with multiple modes of action. Due to its multiple targets and outstanding cytotoxicity, this compound is a valuable candidate in the field of chemotherapy research for further pre-clinical tests. This work was mainly carried out in Chimie ParisTech by Dr. Anna Notaro, Marta Jakubaszek, Dr. Robin Vinck and Patrick Felder.
