The groups of Gilles Gasser and Christophe Thomas, in collaboration with those of Marcel Hollenstein at the Pasteur Institute and Bruno Goud at the Curie Institute, have just published an article in the renowned journal of the Royal Society of Chemistry Chemical Science.

In this paper, they report on a polymerisation method to encapsulate a photosensitizer for photodynamic therapy against cancer. They could demonstrate that this technique could significantly increase the cellular uptake of the photosensitizer, opening up new opportunities to deliver anticancer compounds. The work was mainly carried out by Nancy Soliman, a PhD student between the Gasser and Thomas group.
