visite ministre chinois 2026

On 26 March 2026, the Chinese Minister of Education, Huai Jinpeng, and his delegation were received by Christian Lerminiaux, Director of Chimie ParisTech-PSL, accompanied by Gilles Gasser, Director of International Relations, as well as researchers Fan Sun, Min-Hui Li, and Zijun Wang, for discussions dedicated to strengthening academic and scientific relations between France and China.

A meeting placed under the sign of dialogue.Initiated by the Embassy of China in Paris and within the framework of the relations fostered by Université PSL, this meeting is part of a broader dynamic of Franco-Chinese academic cooperation. Following a first stop at Mines Paris-PSL, the delegation was welcomed by Christian Lerminiaux, together with Gilles Gasser and the school’s researchers Fan Sun, Min-Hui Li, and Zijun Wang.

This partnership dynamic is notably supported by existing joint training programmes, such as the Franco-Chinese Institute Chimie Pékin (BUCT–Paris Curie Engineering School), which represents one of the major examples of cooperation between French and Chinese institutions in the fields of chemistry and process engineering.

This meeting provided an opportunity to openly discuss shared challenges in higher education, research, and innovation.

Shared priorities in education and mobility. Discussions focused primarily on engineering education and the development of balanced student mobility between France and China. The issue of hosting French students in China, particularly through internships in companies, was extensively addressed.

In this context, the Chinese side mentioned the availability of 200 internship opportunities for French students, as well as the “1000 Interns” programme, in collaboration with the French Institute in China. These initiatives aim to facilitate international academic pathways and strengthen the employability of future engineers.

Outlooks for cooperation in research and innovation. Beyond education, the discussions highlighted prospects for research collaboration, particularly in the fields of biomaterials for health and artificial intelligence. The Chinese delegation also expressed interest in structuring strengthened cooperation between institutions, integrating education, research, and innovation, in order to consolidate existing partnerships and develop new ones. The visit concluded with a tour of the Curie Museum.

This meeting illustrates the shared commitment to pursuing a sustainable academic cooperation, serving a Franco-Chinese friendship founded on dialogue, education, and research.
